Thanks to a lazy glance at a page of the Mercury, I have learned that there is POUTINE to be had IN THIS TOWN! As in Not Canada! They'll apparently even do it vegan-stylie. I must procure some and report my findings post-haste.

I haven't had poutine since [livejournal.com profile] pyrobaby and I visited [livejournal.com profile] cruelsoul forever ago, and oh, I was affected by that foodie experience. That stuff is insane deliciousness. I don't know how the Portland version will compare to the genuine Canadian article, but I MUST TRY IT. :D

Anyhoo, I'm still sick, but not bad enough to call in sick to work. I'm officially blaming Beer. I decided to give myself a break on Sunday, after a long day of shoots, so I had a couple of beers. And, well, you know what they say: alcohol weakens the immune system, blada blada, now I'm sick. And that's after weeks of eating mostly-clean and living completely alcohol-free. Yeah, figures. ;p

Finally, because nice quotes should be spread around:

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

I love that quote! Its so hopeful isn't it? I agree about spreading nice quotes. I'll pass it along.

How can one make vegan poutine? The whole point is you're basically piling the animal on top of the vegetable.

disclaimer: poutine terrifies me

It's Portland, they veganize everything here!

I'll stick with the genuine article, though; vegan cheese is made of FAIL.

My friend eats... that... at that 24 hour place downtown all the time. Roxy?

Dude, when is your housewarming?

Whoa, I didn't know they had it at Roxy! The place I read about was Potato Champion.

Possibly considering Housewarming/Halloween Party...

I have two pounds of real fresh cheese curds straight from the cheese factory today. *squeaksqueaksqueak* They are NOMLICIOUS! All other cheese curds are fail.

We would also like to have a Housewarming/Halloween Party. Unfortunately, we can't pin point a date until gmendel's new work schedule is available. I'll let you know when we find out.

Ideally, I would like to have our party on the 25th. If that doesn't work maybe the 31st (since it falls on a Friday). We'll see.
