Yes, more training blather.

adventure_girl, I've been turned onto the US Navy method of tracking body fat percentage. I definitely like it better than the old BMI chart, which only uses height and weight and doesn't account for lean body mass. And it *definitely* beats the hell out of my cheapo digital scale that likes to say that I'm at 35%, which? No-effing-way.
The US Navy thinks I'm at 28.22%, which I totally believe. 28% is at the upper end of normal for a lady, so I'm a tiny smidge overweight, but not egregiously so. That seems like a pretty accurate assessment of where I'm at.
I made it through practice yesterday without much trouble, in spite of The Foot. Master Gao got all superconcerned when I told her I couldn't jump, d'aaww. :) I skipped out on jumps and did punching drills and a few stance drills, which totally depressed me, but it's better than the pain of landing hard on my gimped foot. The swelling is already down from yesterday, so it was definitely worth taking it easy!
I meet with my new nutritionist tonight after work! I. Am. EXCITED. If she's anywhere near as good as I've been told, we'll get some mad-awesome results. What I really want is to: A) eat clean and healthy, B) lose body fat, and C) be able to train decently while I do it. Having a plan that's easily followed during jam-packed days would also be great, because we have a ton of weddings over the next few weeks. She apparently does individualized plans tailored to your goals, your health, and your history, and even updates them every two weeks, based on your progress. I'm looking forward to seeing what she comes up with. :)
Anyhoo, enough babbling about my not-so-fat ass. ;) Who's pumped for Tron 2? Jeff Bridges is back for this one, so it ought to be at least okay. And, rumor has it that Pixar may be involved... I expect massive amounts of awesome, if the rumor is true.
In other news, we're interviewing new roommates, and we have a couple of awesome ones so far! It's hard for me to tell, at times, because I can get along with quite a few different types of people, but I think this crew will get on well. And there will be at least one cat in the house, which makes me a happy panda. <3 I still want a dog, but I think I need to be less busy before that would be reasonable, so I'll settle for enjoying the company of other people's cats, for the moment. :)
But, unsurprisingly, other candidates have been, well, not-so-great. We met one a couple days ago, and she was nice enough, but literally interrupted everything anyone said, and clearly wanted to be The Center Of Attention At All Times. She'd be fun in small doses, but if I had to live with her, I'd get tired of/annoyed by her pretty fast.
Fortunately, I think we're off the hook with her. I stumbled upon a post from her yesterday, in everyone's favorite Portland LJ community, where she whined about looking for a place to live and not finding anything good. Little did I know that, at the very same time that she was probably writing that post, Ben and Serafin were waiting for her at the new house, thinking that she was on her way over. They wound up waiting ALL AFTERNOON, because she apparently couldn't stop lazing around at her temporary place long enough to actually come over! ::eyeroll:: Oh well, no skin off of my nose! :)
That's all!

Date: 2008-08-09 01:40 am (UTC)Also note that the promo recently shown at - was it Comic-Con? - isn't from the movie at all. Because the movie is so bad, they're afraid to show it to the public. (Maybe.)
Also, AFAIK, Wendy Carlos is not involved with the soundtrack.
