In case you missed the announcement over the weekend: birthday shenanigans on Friday Night! I've since decided that dinner will be potluck at the house, so bring something tasty! Bug me for the address if you need it. If you give me your e-mail address, then I can put you on my party mailing list and cut out the LJ middle man. :)
Speaking of birthdays, HAPPY BIRTHDAY
pyrobaby! It'll probably be tomorrow by the time you see it, but <3 <3 <3!
Anyhoo, we didn't get to film on Friday, because Sifu decided he didn't want us to film at the school. There were a lot of kids in class, so I kind of get why, but this does leave me having to find another location where we can film some wushu without me breaking myself.
After wushu was The Forbidden Kingdom, which was... okay. It's very, *very* westernized, and very much a family film, so don't expect a lot of depth. I spent a lot of the time waiting for the dorky kid to stop yammering, so people would start fighting each other again. BUT, Jet Li and Jackie Chan sparring each other *is* a pretty rad sight! If you go in with appropriately lowered expectations, you could have a good time.
Jet and Jackie should both go to Hong Kong and make another attempt at the film, though. Srsly. Hollywood basically fornicated with the household canine, if you get my drift.
Went to a crazy housewarming party on Saturday, which was much fun, and their new house was awesome! It definitely gives me higher hopes for what we can get in our price range. Mary-L also has a boss collection of wigs, and I'm now convinced that, if I were ever transformed into an anime character, I could totally rock a white-blond, short, geometric hairdo. XD We also played Who? What? Where? and I can apparently sketch out a courtroom in about 5 seconds, but I cannot draw George Washington identifiably. Hur hur hur!
Slept in a lot on Sunday, looked at some cars, and did a photoshoot, and spent the rest of the time making food and kicking it. We've done pretty well on cooking since I got back from my trip, so hopefully I'll start feeling some positive effects soon.
That's all!
P.S. I drew this stupid picture for the Facebook Event version of the party invite. Dorkitude, commence!:
