Get on the bus!
Nov. 27th, 2007 01:42 pmOMG, I love the new "Take Public Transit" option on Google Maps. I've already used it to find several places, so I could get to lunchtime appointments when I don't have a car. I wanted to see Amy about getting my wack-ass hairdo fixed up tomorrow, and Google Maps told me how to get myself out to Milwaukie on good ol' Tri-Met. That is effin' awesome.
I know I've said this like 80 times now, but I heart organic veggie delivery. :D I made some kale as part of dinner last night and it turned out really good. And you know? There's something rather nice about washing your produce to get rid of dirt, rather than washing it in some futile attempt to get rid of scary chemicals and pesticides.
I did a weird class at the gym yesterday that basically involved doing intervals of cardio interspersed with intervals of high-rep/low-weight resistance training. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but it actually seems like an optimal way to make me do a lot of exercises that I *should* do, but don't really like to, heh. :) I rarely have the time to do thorough, full-body weight training, and I hate the monotony of bopping along on some cardio machine for 30-60 minutes. The class, however, changes things up often enough throughout the hour that I get a lot accomplished, and I don't have *time* to get bored, heh.
I am definitely fired up about doing the gym thing. Being warm and toasty and having lots of variety does a world of good for my motivation.
I'm still mulling over the whole wushu situation, too. Phil's dad said some things about their experiences with the school that, well, don't exactly give me a lot of hope. Whooof. I need to figure out a plan, and soon.
