On false alarms and dusty cobwebs
Jul. 19th, 2007 04:03 pmSo, my mom kind of scared the crap out of me yesterday.
She called me while I was at the job, and told me that there had been a subway explosion in NYC, because somebody BOMBED it. I hadn't seen anything on my online news feeds, but she watches MSNBC and stock reports all the bloody time, so it seemed possible that she'd have heard about it before I would.
After a minute or so of sleuthing on Teh Internets, I learned that she was actually talking about THIS. Which, yeah, not a bomb.
Then, she called back within 30 seconds of my reading the actual cause, to tell me that it WASN'T a bomb after all. Niiiiice. XD
In other news, a
damnportlanders post involving everyone posting their senior pictures and/or some embarrassing younger photo of themselves ended with me gazing upon THIS:

Scary, no? I could bite your face off with that gaping maw! XD
I can't believe it's already Thursday. Tomorrow's going to be busy, because I'll be at that pesky runway show... but as a photographer! And I didn't even have to talk to the organizer in order to hook that up. Muahaha! I figure I should get *something* out of it, after all the time of mine that they wasted with their vague non-auditions.
But seriously, it should be a fun photo opportunity, and it could lead to some really high-profile gigs in the future, assuming our shots turn out well... which they will, of course! ;)
Still awaiting resolution on the house situation... we haven't had a chance to check in with Thomas yet. Soon, though, hopefully.
My legs are also ridiculously sore/exhausted today, because I did two wushu classes on Tuesday, and somehow let Ben talk me into going running yesterday. And that's on top of the bike ride to and from work both days. Curse youuuuu, weak and flabby girly muscles!
