Here's an unexpected bit of madness: our landlord has been in town for the past week or two, and apparently, while she's been here, she has given Thomas enough crap about the property that he's decided to move out at the end of August. :O
That basically leaves us two options:
1) Move to a new place YET. AGAIN. I'm definitely NOT into that idea. Landlady being stingy and picky does give me pause, but augh. It feels like I just friggin' unpacked, people.
2) Rent the house ourselves, and find roommates to fill the other rooms. This could actually prove to be a pretty good idea, and we'd end up with cheaper rent after renting out the other rooms. There *is* crazy landlady to contend with, but she lives out of state, so we're not likely to have to deal with much from her. (knock wood)
Sooo, yeah. We might be looking for roommates very soon, here. If you're looking for a change of space, or know any sane and conscientious people who are, keep us in mind. :D

As I mentioned yesterday, I baked like a crazy man on Monday! One of those things was a carrot cake with coconut cream cheese frosting, both of which I modified for better healthiness, and it came out really moist and tasty. Win!
The other experiment was this funky vegan brownie recipe that involved pumpkin! It's actually really good, enough so that I brought some to work today. I like when I find really good baking recipes that don't involve 80 tons of butter or some ridiculous number of eggs. :D
And speaking of vegan recipes, I *finally* tried this whole nutritional-yeast-as-cheese-flavor thing, just to see what all the fuss is about. And, well, let's just say I won't be quitting dairy food any time soon. ;p Maybe I just happened upon a recipe that wasn't as good, but I didn't get anything cheeselike out of that fake-cheese sauce. It tasted all right, and everything, but it was a pale, pale substitute for my usual cheese sauces.
------
We also saw the latest Harry Potter movie over the weekend, and I liked it quite a bit. I like how the movies are getting darker and less Disney-cutesy, and they kept the story moving at a good pace. And no, I don't care about whatever miscellaneous plot points from the book that may have been glossed over, because I haven't read any of them! It was a solid film, and I enjoyed myself.
It's almost absurd how many awesome actors they have in the supporting cast, too... it seems like they manage to add more and more people with Real Acting Chops every time they make a new one of this series. LOVE IT. <3
That's all!
