Man, having the day off yesterday was nice. Ben had to get up at some ungodly hour of the morning to shoot a race, but he got done by midday, so I slept in and baked muffins until he got back, and then we biffed around in the Forest Park area for a while and caught some outstanding views of the town.

We also hit up a BBQ hosted by [livejournal.com profile] phasmaphobic, and may I just say? The fact that he was willing to invite a bunch of strangers over and allow them to consume his meat products is pretty rad. We had good times hanging out and BSing and consuming lots of alcohol and meat, as the holiday dictates we should! We also hoofed it down Burnside to the esplanade afterwards to catch the fireworks down by the waterfront, which were good but seemingly short.

Anyhoo, mid-week holidays kind of throw off the internal clock, but on the plus side, it's almost the weekend! This one's going to be busy, though: we're shooting two weddings this weekend, *and* a church conference. Ben and I are having to split our efforts on the weddings, so he's headed down south to shoot one on Saturday, while I do the other one. This might be how we're having to do things all month, too, because everybody *has* to get married on the same day, jeez. Wouldn't it be nice if the photography team actually got to work *together* once in a while?

So, yeah, looks like we have only one weekend completely off this month, as of right now, and I have design work that needs attention, too. So, if you should encounter me at any point in the next few weeks, and find me off in a corner going completely mad, that'd be why. Hooray for trading sanity for money! ;p

Speaking of busy weekends, I'm thinking about Eat Sarah's Food Night! It may not happen until August, but I might follow my mother's tradition, and churn out way more Chinese food than anyone could possibly eat. Takers? Suggestions for a good weekend to do this would also rock, so fire away.

That's all!

We will happily eat your food! That's what good friends are for, right? ;)

(thinking of doing something similar, BTW, though it would involve BBQ and almost certainly less people.. no ETA, though)

You know I'll eat good chow, whatever the type! And I think I actually prefer smaller shindigs. :)
