I accepted a job today. :O I'm not sure if I'll like the actual work or not, but it's worth a go, and it seems like a nice place with fairly easygoing folks, at the very least. Also, the pay is very good, so that definitely swayed me. My initial reaction was that I'm more concerned about hating my job than starving to death--the former seemed much more likely than the latter--but, after crunching enough numbers, it seemed pretty hard to pass up. So, that's that, heh. :)
In the meantime, I have another week and a half or so to enjoy the freedom of unemployment, and I have some 3vil plans in mind for how to keep my design business growing, in the meantime. It's going to be harder, since I'll have less time available than before, but having more money available to save up, invest, etc. would actually help a lot with some of the biggest issues I'm having. (namely, advertising and improving the overall visibility of the business)
Anyway, the weekend was pretty fun. We went to a housewarming party on Saturday, for Travis' brother, and it was nice to hang around in a chill environment with some new people. Sunday was rad, because I finally got in touch with
shannidee, so Ben and I went over to play games and hang out. :D Got to see lots of people I hadn't seen in a while:
barndawgg (!!),
twinki79, Jen, and Ben (ex-Ben, not current-Ben, heh), and the rest of Shannon's family by sight or by voice, so it was good times all around.
Viv made spaghetti for everyone, and the girls' team kind of got crushed in a game of Taboo. (but to our credit, we did take a commanding lead at first!) I also feel better about my mostly-firm decision to skip my high school reunion, after hearing that Shannon and Emily were basically on the same page as I was, heh. :) Anyhoo, it seemed like Ben and I got tired and crapped out kind of early, but that's probably good, seeing as I puked within an hour or two of getting home. (yecch)
I'm slowly getting better; I was ok enough to bike to the office today instead of driving, even though I couldn't fall asleep for the life of me last night. My stomach still feels off, and my muscles are still weak, but other than that I'm back to normal. :)
Anyhoo, lots to do! So I'm off.
