yet another drive-by
May. 15th, 2007 01:18 pmThe Zompire film festival on Saturday was pretty darned amusing. :) They showed The Lost Boys, sandwiched between a bunch of shorter zombie/undead films. The shorts generally skewed towards the funny/cheesy, and there was even a pretty polished and fairly involved zombie musical. Six hours was a long time to be sitting on your duff, but it was a fun little event.
On a sadder note, as Ben,
nick2310, and I were driving back, we witnessed the aftermath of a hit-and-run close to our neighborhood. The guy at the gas station said it'd been a couple of hours since it happened, and the victim (on foot, I think) died on the spot. Hit-and-run drivers make me angry.
I'm waiting for post-interview callbacks, but in the meantime, I'm keeping busy with contract work, trying to get business stuff straightened out, and updating my blasted portfolio. Blargh. There's so much I need to work on that I can hardly focus on any one thing.
We've been out to a lot of good places to eat, as of late, and I'm sure I can't even remember them all. Thai Orchid was awesome, but there's also Thai Ginger right near my house, which was also good. Cup and Saucer does good breakfast. Aaand I'm completely blanking out. ::rotfl:: I have a list of good recommendations to check out, actually, but most of those are in SE, and we haven't been down that way very much, yet.
I intend to cook more, though. The following list is mainly for my own edification. ;p
Oh yeah, it looks like I'll be down around Eugene/Corvallis-ish for some part of Memorial Day Weekend. Definitely the 26th, maybe the 25th and/or 27th. :) Let's make plans!
