ZOMG crappy videos!

Nelson uploaded videos from CMAT, so I am going to break with tradition and actually post some videos. I never posted videos before, because I suck, but eh, it's time to get over myself and put it out there.

So, you may now behold my crappy changquan performance:

Yeah, I got psyched out, as I tend to. I read the rulebook and figured out that I probably lost about 0.4, maybe 0.5 for losing my balance on things. (just putting my hands down the extra time on backsweep knocks off 0.3) So hey, if I hadn't done that, I'd have scored like a 7.85, which is pretty hotsauce for an intermediate. Well, maybe not, since I still would've had the Thinking Too Hard On a Math Test face. ;p So, yeah, not my best, but I can definitely see improvements from last year.

And no, the broadsword video where I hit myself in the face isn't up yet. XD Later, perhaps!

On a related note, I hurt like hell from practice, but I love my new black Feiyues. You wouldn't think that wearing a black athletic shoe instead of a white one would make you feel different, but I did yesterday. Those things have magical powers!

Holy crap that was friggin awesome!! (And so totally different from karate, heh!) How neat. Did you choreograph (for lack of a better word) yourself, or is it like our kata in karate where everyone memorizes em?

Yah, choreographing is the right word. :D And yeah, I basically took my old form from last year, and kept modifying it until I ended up with what you see now. My goal was to make it look like a completely different form. I actually had some other modifications, but I took them out at the 11th hour, because my stamina is terrible. ^^;

And yeah, cheering is common at wushu tournaments, too. :D The only person I could really hear when I was on the floor was the guy running the video camera, though.
