I don't know what it is, but things seem to be happening all of a sudden... but in that good way! I won't go into too much detail right now, because I don't have much time, but it's basically "things" to the tune of paying work. Yeah, I'm excited, y'all.

This weekend was looking all empty at the beginning of the week, but now it's looking busy. That's probably good, though, because it'll distract me from wondering about how things are going at Collegiates. It's weird to not be there; even though I wasn't eligible to compete last year, I was still deeply involved in making sure the event ran smoothly. Now, I'm just sending people out there and am not a part of it at all.

But, the far, FAR more agonizing thing than that is not being able to cheer for my n00bs and see how they perform! I won't even find out if anyone medaled until at least Monday!

Eh, maybe I can get Goo or Nelson to text message me with event results. XD

Finally, I stole this link from [livejournal.com profile] sarapada, but it's an interesting read, particularly if you grew up being one of the Smart Kids: The Power (and Peril) of Praising Your Kids.

And, I'm off!

Hm.. that article makes total sense. I'd always been called smart by all my teachers, etc., got put in "smart" schools in elementary & middle school, & always bragged about how I never had to study for anything. Once stuff actually got hard, wasn't immediately intuitive, or actually required lots of studying (i.e. history, calculus, college physics etc.) I pretty much just gave up & stopped trying. Good thing that trend didn't also apply to non-school stuff...
