Blah blah blah
Jan. 30th, 2007 03:12 pmTrained for 3+ hours on Saturday, and I got some good tips from Phil. Apparently I need to pull my shoulders back more, and open up the chest... which I soon discovered I'm actually a bit shy about, because I am all full of bosoms. Haha. ;p I'll get over it, I guess. Either that, or I'll get a tighter sports bra. :p
On Saturday night, I *finally* got to do some karaoke after too long of a break from it! :O We didn't exactly plan ahead for it, but we went to the Lone Star for the first time since my birthday, and even got David to come along. (although we didn't get him to sing... yet! >:D) The song list had a lot more unfamiliar songs than I remembered from last time, but when you're amongst a handful of drunk pseudo-cowboys, many of whom are warbling along to sad bastard country tunes, there's really no better time to pull out something that you'd be nervous about trying in front of your own peers.
So, for my third song, I did Highway to Hell by AC/DC. BWA HA HA! XD And it even turned out okay! I think I've learned to rawk at last.
Sunday was the first go at my trampoline photoshoot idea. We wound up using some models, and we got a ton of female respondents, but not very many guys. Of course, half the girls didn't confirm the date, or confirmed and then bailed on it later, so we ended up with two of each, which worked pretty well. :D They were all fun and energetic, so it went really well. The main problems were the background--residential neighborhood = lots of bland, unwanted roofs in the frame--and the foreground light being too shady. Still, I got the effect I was going for in other respects, so I'm happy.
Some proofs that I am nowhere near done editing, just because they're fun. I'll probably have to do some compositing before I'll call it good with these. ;p
This guy was pretty good. He responded to my ad late last week, so on Friday I was all, "um, are you available this weekend?" He was the first person to show up, heh.

This is actually one of the newbies from wushu club! He doesn't come to practice very often, but he's done sport karate for quite a few years, and is all about big tricks. His girlfriend found my Craigslist ad. :)

This is the aforementioned girlfriend who found the Craigslist ad. She apparently has 9 years of dance training, and made some hilarious faces. (as evidenced below, heh)

This is the non-Craigslist model, whom I'd been looking to shoot *something* with for a while, because she's edgy and seemed like she'd be high-energy and fun. She didn't disappoint, and she brought this awesome ballgown, too!

We might do a re-shoot sometime in the future--preferably when it's a bit warmer--so we can try a different time of day for better light, and attempt to solve the background problem by hanging a big backdrop off of the upstairs deck.
Phil also taught me more broadsword form on Sunday, before he left, so I might actually get done with it before I die. Woo! I still have a lot to learn, but I'm sure that comes as no surprise. ;p
Anyhoo, I'm all busted from training four days in a row, and the Red Devil is sucking my will to do anything today, so I'm off.
