Gee, and here I thought I'd be getting things done today. :p

I installed my new hard drive today, and everything was going along swimmingly for a bit. I was in the midst of copying files onto it when the entire system froze and I had to reboot.

Of course, when trying to reboot, I didn't even get past the first screen. It gets as far as "Memory Te" (as in Memory Test) and then it hangs and goes to a black screen. I tried disconnecting the new hard drive, disconnecting the old hard drive, swapping out the RAM, and none of those things has any effect on the bootup.

I don't know what that means, but it does not make me a happy camper. Motherboard? Processor? Something is clearly not doing its job. Help?

I suppose I'm off to go have some lunch and clean my room. Rrrrgh!!

Sounds like the Motherboard or processor to me. If it can't get past that first screen, or even too it, then it's not even getting to the point where it hits the hard drive or the memory. Sucks.
