For those of us who like lists (::cough[livejournal.com profile] craftyrancough::), this is a nice task-tracking tool! The UI could use some re-working, but it has some nice functionality and potential for awesomeness.

In other news, this is so corny I can't even get over it: chicks doing "kung fu". (they also have a website) That is some bad, bad wushu. It's a martial art, not a dance! The fact that groups like that get any recognition just makes it even harder for wushu to gain any real, respectable recognition in the western world. I mean, as far as martial arts skills, *I* could probably put on a skimpy outfit and get into that group right now, and my wushu is mediocre, at best. :p

Speaking of my wushu, teaching brought some frustrations yesterday, but I think I've at least figured out what to do about an individual form, phew. I'm adding a new trick to my arsenal (running jump outside into splits), and I came to the realization that my intermediate form from last year has *way* too many jumps in the first section--kind of my fault, since I asked to add one--thereby tiring me out and making the rest look like crap. I figure that, if I do the outside-split, I can rework the second and/or third sections and move one of my jumps later in the form, so I don't die after that first section. That also gets me out of composing the first section, which was the part I was the most stuck on. Woo! :D

As for teaching frustrations, I've been teaching the beginner form to some newbies who are competing, and attempting to keep them at about the same point in the form, so I wouldn't be re-teaching the same material a bunch of times, and wasting time that I could be spending with more advanced students. But, Phil and/or his brother taught some of the newbies more of the form over winter break, so yesterday I had to wrangle with people at 4 different points in the same form and figure out how to get everyone caught up again. Argh, I say.

In other news, I got hit in the neck with a racquetball yesterday! David was hitting the ball really hard, in an attempt to ricochet it off the back wall such that it would hit the front wall, and instead it hit ME. ::rotfl:: It stung like a mother, but it was kind of hilarious anyway.

Work is frustrating this week. Various components/apps that I need to do my friggin' work have decided to spontaneously break, when they've previously worked fine for long periods of time, and I haven't done anything to make them stop working. What. The. Crap?!

On a less whiny note, Ben and I took a few minutes before work to have some coffee while watching the snow fall from the top of the parking garage. :) I also randomly ran into [livejournal.com profile] divadrummer and [livejournal.com profile] morriscat on my way to the bank earlier today, and wound up having lunch with them... that was an excellent and unexpected surprise! :) Also, there's a meeting later this evening that may lead to some more paid photo work.

So, yeah, it could be worse... just trying to take joy in the smaller bits of Good, because there's a lot of stuff trying to make me grumpy right now.

Ugh! When I, who knows nothing about wushu, can tell how bad those chicks are, you know they're bad. >_< What a shame.
