Late weekend update
Nov. 15th, 2006 12:27 pmI'm back in action! I sound like hell, and I don't feel super-great, but here I am anyway. I'm actually glad to be back at work, so maybe the illness was a good thing, as far as my personal morale goes. :)
The portrait gig on Saturday got unexpectedly canceled... we're waiting to hear back from them about rescheduling, but hopefully it'll happen soon. We biffed around town for a bit, had some coffee, and relaxed in front of a toasty fire, among other things.
Sunday was pretty relaxed and groovy; we played some racquetball, during the course of which I unwittingly smashed my knee into the wall. I think all I got out of it was a really gnarly bruise, but I haven't practiced yet, so we'll see if I'm still functioning at wushu tonight. Jeez, wushu has made me so paranoid about any injury that involves my knees. :p
We also rented the original version of The Manchurian Candidate, which was interesting for me to watch, after seeing the Liev Schreiber version that came out a couple years ago. I definitely liked some of the scenes in the original that weren't present in the remake, like the communist-meeting-as-a-ladies'-garden-party... heh, there was something about the Cold War that made for better movies. :)
Good news this morning: things are in motion for my once-a-week paper route... I'm going in to talk to them tomorrow, and I should be getting a route that's near my house, if all goes well... it sounds super-flexible and easy. $$$!
