On Saturday, we shot a paid event gig! Craziness. It was a young kid's birthday party, so it was a lot of fun, but it was also pretty tiring. Constant alertness, tweaking settings, timing... it gets rather taxing, after a while. I basically went along as backup, because I don't any good lighting equipment, but I think I got some good shots, in spite of the crappy built-in flash.

Later on, we picked up [livejournal.com profile] junsiew and went to see The Prestige. I can't decide if I liked it or not, mostly due to the story. The acting and the setting were very well-executed, and I liked the overall feel of the movie, but I left feeling like I'd been waiting for something that never came. The film was definitely dark, and there wasn't a clear protagonist, but those were both things that I liked about it, heh. I don't feel robbed, but I don't feel wow-ed, either. Also, David Bowie as Nikola Tesla?! How crazy is that?

On a semi-related note, as we left the theater, there was a HUGE line for this frickin' Borat movie. I keep seeing that guy's face plastered all over MySpace banner ads, but I know nothing about the actual plot, and I have no idea what to think. Is it actually funny, or is it just trying really hard to achieve cult status?

Anyway, after that we went back to the house to hang out, while I threw together some dinner. I love having the ability to grab a few things out of the fridge, with no real plan in mind, and still turn it into something tasty. :D Also, at one point we perused the Eugene Weekly's "Best Of" list, and found that TWO of Ben and David's roommates were in the list. Ha! Eugene is too freaking small.

I brought banana muffins into the world on Sunday morning! One batch with chocolate chips, the other with peanut butter. The chocolate chip ones were pitch-perfect, but I think the peanut butter ones may need some fine-tuning, because they didn't seem quite peanut-buttery or sweet enough to me. Everyone else who tried them said they were good, though, so maybe I'm being picky. Either that, or I didn't mix the ingredients up well enough. ;p

Anyhoo, I did lunch with [livejournal.com profile] numfar and [livejournal.com profile] polysciguy at High Street, and went on a bike ride after that... and then it was work work work until bedtime rolled around. Sigh. Getting to bed early was rather nice, though. ;)

And, here we are at Monday. Blaaahhh.

I thought Borat was hilarious. Seriously. I don't think I've laughed that hard at a movie since South Park.

Hey, would you be interested in doing a teeny, tiny photo shoot of me and Joel? We would pay you. We just need a good photo for our Christmas cards.

Oh yeah, for sure! :D When would be good for you guys? Also, if you have a location you particularly like, we can shoot there, or we also know of a few cool locations with good light if you don't have one in mind. :)
