another drive-by
Aug. 18th, 2006 04:35 pmSNAKES ON A PLAAAAANE! I'm a-goin' at 7:10 tonight, if all goes well, and you should, too!
So, yeah, the shoot yesterday mostly blew goats. I have learned two things: 1) I *really* don't want to do cheesecakey "glamour" modeling, enough so that the mere suggestion squicks me out, and 2) I should start being a hell of a lot pickier about what photographers I work with. I think I'm at a point where I can be a real hard-ass about what I want to do for the camera, and where I can also demand higher-quality work from the photographers I shoot with. I should start thinking about agencies, too, because commercial work is where the money's at. I'm more than happy to smile and wear frumpy clothes for a Sears catalog, if they pay me enough. :)
On the plus side, spending all that time away from the computer yesterday has left me feeling significantly less blah about work and such, as of today. Burnout crisis averted!
Anyhoo, tomorrow's the company picnic, which could be fun... I didn't go last year, so I really don't know what to expect, heh. Nothing too wild and crazy, I imagine, because there will be families about, but it'll be nice to hang around outside and shoot the breeze. In other areas, we might have a girl from Portland coming down to do a shoot with us sometime after the picnic, and we have a local girl scheduled to shoot with us on Sunday. We'll be working with our indoor lights on both of these, so it should be rather educational. :)
Hopefully, I'm going on a bike ride after the movie tonight, too, because Ben had a patch kit and took it upon himself to fix the slow leak on my bike tire a couple days ago. I hope it holds!
