Well, last night was certainly entertaining, heh. :)

I didn't get to do the swimming thing like I'd hoped, yesterday, because the pool hours are in these odd 2-hour blocks, and I got there too late for the last 2-hour block of the day, so I had to run on the treadmill instead. BOO-URNS. The only thing more boring than running around a track is running on a freaking treadmill. :p It wasn't entirely horrible, because I at least got to measure my speed and my time more accurately than when I've run my route near the apartment, but still, So. Boring. I'm going to try again today and pray that I can get over there in time to swim.

After escaping the gym, I met up with [livejournal.com profile] alleycatsphinx and one of his work buddies at the Horsehead, and grazed on beer and french fries. We got it in our heads that, hey, maybe we should go see Superman, so we looked it up in the paper, and found there was a 7:35 showing. We headed over there for that, only to discover that the paper is full of LIES, and that there was not a 7:35 showing at all. And, in an astounding lapse of judgment, we wound up watching the only other movie that was starting around 7:35... Click.

Simply put, it was really effin' bad. I mean, it was an Adam Sandler movie, so I expected it to be kind of bad, but it was cliche and boring and just... BAD. ::rotfl:: Even the combined powers of Christopher Walken, The Fonz, and The Hoff couldn't rescue it. Just, wow. Words fail me. XD We really must pick less traumatic movies to see together, in the future.

David and I had blathered over lunch about the possibility of a get-together later in the evening, so he and Ben threw together a wee barbecue, and I went over there after the movie, for a bit. There were hot dogs and s'mores and clowning around and too much wine. I think wine is my Achilles' Heel in the realm of booze. I can toss back a ton of beer before feeling it, and mixed drinks don't hit me particularly hard, either, but give me a couple of glasses of wine, and suddenly I'm loopy as hell.

Tonight: Swimming, lifting, The Devil Wears Prada, and who knows what else? Saturday: Not sure, but probably a bunch of not-fun moving-related tasks. Sunday: Moving the big stuff, and actually *seeing* Superman this time. (if you want in on the Superman expedition, let me know)
