Work is being annoying. It's kind of tough to fix IE bugs when your development environment doesn't have IE. They don't make it for Mac anymore, which is ultimately a good thing, because IE for Mac was an unholy beast. BUT, that fact really doesn't help when you're trying to bang out an interface on a tight schedule. :p

I still love my handy little laptop Jiraiya. He's a good monkey.

I ran and lifted yesterday, and it was oppressively hot. I tried running on the indoor track at the Uni, thinking it'd be cooler in there, but it really wasn't, so I lurched along, sweating profusely and actually having a bit of trouble breathing because the air was so thick and hot. Running indoors is bloody monotonous, too, so that was pretty much a pointless change in the routine. Sigh.

I said I'd go running with Ben and David today. And then (wushu) David IMed me and said they'd be practicing today. I think I'm gonna do both, in the continuing pursuit of complete and utter physical exhaustion, because I am clearly out of my gourd. :p

Karaoke was slammy, though. They had "I Love Myself Today" by Bif Naked, so I had to do that one, because I've done it in the car more than a few times, heh. Me and [livejournal.com profile] divadrummer teamed up for "Under Pressure," which went pretty well, even though the text on the screen freaked out about halfway through the song. Fortunately, it was the part of the song I actually remembered decently. ^^;

The only bad part was that a huge group of guys came in and pretty much dominated the rotation for a couple hours, which got annoying at times. They *did* do some Tenacious D, though, so that kind of makes up for it. And, apparently it's not in the printed song list, but the DJ actually has David Bowie's "Suffragette City," which I've been in search of for eons! I'm definitely going to bust that out next week.

Anyhoo, I should stop babbling and get back to work. Hopefully I'll have more to say when work isn't kicking me square in the tuchus.

You're giving IE for mac a bad rap here. When it came out, it was the shizzle. It was compliant, functional, fast, and had a small footprint. It blew other browsers out of the water. It's only in the OS X era that it's become a problem. I hope there aren't people out there that are using it.

That said, I never use it for testing on websites. Mac IE 5 != Win IE anything.

IE5/Mac is still in use in a few environments, although they're almost gone -- there's nothing else worth bothering with for OS9, short of iCab and the earliest Mozilla builds. And who the hell uses iCab?

I think one also sees it more commonly amongst OSX 10.1 users, of whom there's a few more than there are strictly OS9 ones. Either way, it surfaces enough in my stats, and it's close enough to reasonable, that I can't not at least make sure sites aren't egregiously ew in it. It's not quite Netscape 4 yet.

IE*4*/Mac *was* evil, though.

Heh, most of my experience with IE for Mac was IE5 under OS 9.x... and pretty much the only time I *ever* open IE, under any environment, is for testing websites, so that was enough to make my poor little head want to explode.

Have you tried elliptical glide machines? Much easier on the knees than running, and you can snag one by a window to look outside. Or break something to read (it's amazing how fast the time can go by if you've got something decent to read on the machine)

Damnit, none of the systems in Japan have Tenacious D! ;_;

And yeah- queue hogs suck. I've recently taken to taking turns. When your song is done, you can put in another one.
