So, apparently, I *owe* the government money on my taxes this year. Note that I have never, NEVER had to pay additional taxes in my life. I always got a refund.

I was looking forward to some fat refunds, like I've gotten every year prior to this one, because I'm so broke I can't pay attention, and it'd be nice to actually have something in my savings account. But noooooo, they're asking for MORE money. Where, exactly, is this money supposed to come from? Yeah, because I can just pull crisp $100 bills out of my ass whenever I want, right? The IRS can go die in a fire.

Some people get a relaxing Spring Break this week! Me? I get bitch-slapped by Uncle Sam. Not. Fair.

Today is FIRED.

since i too am miserable about taxes, here's a little known fact from me to you.

do you know what percentage of your taxes is actually used by the federal goverment for "in-house" expenses? only 3%!

the 97% is actually used to earn even more money... how you ask? why simple, by loaning money to other countries! sometimes we end up giving the loans up too. like the 11 million dollar loan we lent out to china during the clinton administration. bill clinton let go of that loan for us. bush has given a ton of money out that were once loans too. how do you think we had so many join us against the war on terrorism? *hugs himself*

ohh, how nice of us. free money to them so they'll be our friends... awww how cudly. *hugs*

i owe $600 bucks in taxes this year. uncle sam and his top dogs can go sucka cock. those fuckers.

i feel your pain hun. /hugs :|

Part of this is my fault...sort of. Redo your W-4 every time you get a raise. No one ever told me this either - I got a very fat $1600 bill from the IRS last year for that reason.

Yeah, I have to pay taxes this year too. WTF?

I guess it's SORT of a sign of success..?

Technically, if you manage your money pretty well, it's best to pay as little as possible, and invest that money somewhere where it will earn some kind of return in the meantime, instead of loaning it to the government for free and then getting a refund...

i find NOT filing taxes is a great way to keep from having to pay the government. oops. i should've done them last year, but really i have no goddamn idea how to file abroad, so i'm just going to hold off until i can see an accountant in the states, i think.

Awww...sad face :*( Maybe you could just brandish your broadsword, and those pesky collectors will go away. Anyways...when are you practicing this week? Wed? Thurs? And what time?

Happened to me this year, too. Although it wasn't the Feds or state that got me that bad, it was fucking Multnomah County. *shakes fist*

Last year I had to pay $1100 to the government. Along with redoing that W-4 when you get a raise you also have to pay attention to how much overtime you get paid for. That's what tagged me last year. I worked enough that I got bumped up into the next bracket or something. Lame!
