Somebody mail me a pair of gloves or a space heater, please?? It's so cold and dry outside that my knuckles actually bled, and there is apparently not enough moisturizer in the world to prevent it! Oh yeah, and I'm currently freezing here at my desk. Blargh, I say.
So, the weekend kind of got shifted around unexpectedly, but it was still good fun. Peekture time was great fun. Rather time-consuming, but things came out looking pretty all-right, and I got to play around in Photoshop with some of the results. I love how I can do things so much faster and better than I used to.
For some reason, I woke up at 7:30a on Saturday, after going to bed at 2:00a the night before... don't ask me how the hell that happened. Anyhoo, the ZG raid didn't happen on Saturday--apparently there was some miscommunication between Longevity and TPK, sigh--but since we were all there, we did a Lowbie Day instead. This probably sounds insane, but tanking takes up way too much of my brain power. ::rotfl:: After all the time I've spent on DPS characters that can't really take hits, actively *trying* to hold aggro and get hit? Yeah, doesn't exactly come naturally.
Anyway, after that, we went out for food--deep-dish pizza at BJ's, followed by cookie-and-ice cream dessert, mmmm--and then we decided to go bowling on a whim. I almost opted to go home and take a nap because I was sleepy as hell, but, apparently, I should bowl when I'm exhausted more often. I think my personal best is 147, because I'm a wildly mediocre bowler, but I managed to roll a 136 and a 144 before the tiredness caught up with me. Whee!
After getting back, me and J watched Serenity, which he pretty much hated, because of all the "hey! Let's kill off ______!" stuff that pissed off so many fans. Which, yeah, I didn't exactly love that, either, but it didn't turn me off from the whole movie. Of course, J also hated the last Star Trek movie solely because they greased Data, so, his reaction was completely not a surprise. ::laughs::
We attempted ZG on Sunday, and I gotta say I was a bit frustrated by it--we had some real asshat PUGers along to fill the last couple of slots in the group--but it didn't go too badly, overall. I had to leave early to go to the demo, though, so I didn't get to see how the whole thing went.
The demo itself was pretty excellent. I arrived early, to make sure I knew where I needed to be and all that, so I got to biff around at Asian Celebration for a while. The food was expensive, but I got to have bubble tea, so I can't complain. :D Lots of people came to watch, yay! I was kind of jugging friends and teammates for a while there, but it was fun. I think we got a good response for the demo, and we got the word out to a lot of people about Collegiates, so hopefully we'll get a good audience for that. Also, I love how the form is looking, now that I've practiced it more and we've finished the whole thing. Flower palm is super-groovy!
After hanging out at the Celebration for a while longer, I went to Sam Bond's with Jeremy, David, and Ben, and that was pretty nice and relaxing. They had a cool little Irish band playing--one member was this skinny old guy with a long, white beard, who just looked like a movie character I can't place--the beer was excellent, and they had some *awesome* organic pizza! Mmm, gorgonzola goodness. After that, we spent the rest of the evening hanging out, goofing off, and making a late-night WinCo run because we were all hungry and there was no food to be had. WinCo apparently now takes debit cards, so I may actually start going there more consistently. I got a little tired and bored near the end, but I really wasn't ready for the weekend to be over.
Alas, it's back to the daily grind for me. Working and training, oy. I could really use a nap, but right now, I'd settle for a hot coffee and a fluffy scarf.
