Oh lordy, this made me laugh: Beware of Skechers... (BTW, if you're wondering, that is apparently a result of the Bubble Project)
So, story of the day: Last night, I got nailed in the gut with a shoe! And it STILL hurts.
See, last night at wushu, Phil had a rather questionable idea for a warmup, which we will call shoe tag. You're in two teams, on opposite sides of a line, and everyone takes off one of their Feiyues and flings it at the other team, trying to hit them and take them out, dodgeball-style. This is generally okay, because A) we can only throw frisbee-style, so it doesn't hit as hard, and B) Feiyues are really soft and floppy shoes, basically like Keds, so they don't hurt that badly, anyway.
At yesterday's practice, however, there were a couple of newbies present who don't have Feiyues yet, so they were lobbing around their much bulkier and harder cross-trainers. Byron somehow got a really high-speed throw on one of those cross-trainers, and it hit me square in the stomach. I fell on my ass out of complete shock, and there's now a big ol' red shoe print on the right side of my gut. OW. Damned nooblets and their hard, plastic-y shoes!!
I am so incredibly tired of being broke. I need food, I need batteries, I need some caffeine to get through today, but I don't get paid until tomorrow. BLARGH! I will just have to hang in there for another 24 hours...
On the up side, I did get to watch Project Runway yesterday! Could the results of that challenge have been any more BORING? There wasn't anything particularly special or unique about any of those dresses, except Santino's, and something is clearly wrong when I'm rooting for Santino to go to Fashion Week. Yeah, it was kind of a ridiculous dress with all the sequin stuff--not *as* ridiculous as his usual, though--but the other three looked like something I could find at my local JC Penney. Where's the artistic vision, people? Santino's was insane, but at least you could definitively tell it was *his*. The other three seemed to kind of miss the point of the challenge.
I agree with the auf-ing of Kara, at least. I've been pretty underwhelmed by most of her stuff throughout the show, and if she's not showing her design style when they're *asking* her to show it, then when will she ever? And GOD, woman, lay off the black! Color is your friend! (says the girl who has way too much black and red in her closet... ::cough::)
I liked the sass Iman brought to judging panel. She is quite fabulous, and knows her stuff; what a great choice for a celebrity judge. Also, Kors is an asshat and needs to lay off the self-tanner, because he looks like an Oompa-Loompa.
These last few challenges have made me miss Diana more than ever. ;_; Can you imagine the awesomely-crazy shit she'd have come up with? Sigh.
Weekend might be pretty crazy. I'm demoing tomorrow morning, and this time I'm getting paid for it, heh. Zul'Gurub raid happens on Saturday, bright and early. Demo on Sunday. I've got a bit of the nerves, but I think I'll live. :)
That's all!
