Okay, Last.fm is pretty genius. I finally listened to enough songs to make their "neighbor radio" work, so I had it running while I played WoW this weekend. It plays a selection of songs liked by people with similar taste to yours, and for me, it was actually pretty spot on. There was more J-Rock and J-Pop than I would have liked--apparently, if you like one J-musician, you like *all* of them, sigh--but it did pull up some good stuff I hadn't heard before, and it also grabbed some great songs that I knew of, but hadn't heard in a while. I like being reminded of good songs that I've temporarily forgotten. :)
Saturday was nice; I biffed around at the public library with Ben and David for a little while in the afternoon, and we wandered around taking pictures. I did get a couple that I think will turn out pretty nifty, but I need to see them full-size in Photoshop before I'll be certain. The sky was threatening to snow, and I was praying that it would, because I'd have *loved* to take some snow photos, but alas, it was not to be. Maybe I'll post some later.
Anyhoo, after the photography phun, we wandered over to Sweet Basil for some Thai food, and a few more people joined us. Mmm, delicious curry. <3 The service seemed a bit slow, but it was nice to just hang out. We went back to Ben and David's later on and played some Cranium, and had an impromptu donut run, and it was nice. The two girls that joined us, Mary-L and Salvez, are pretty entertaining. The first time I met Mary-L was the same day that she'd injured her back in a bike accident, and was therefore doped up on painkillers or somesuch, so it was nice to hang around with her under more normal circumstances.
Why am I always so amazed and delighted when I actually meet girls who *aren't* stupid and/or annoying? I'm so weirdly misogynistic, sometimes. :p On the plus side, I can think of quite a few girls I know now whom I actually enjoy being around. I'll just have to remember that when random chicks at the gym are glaring at me for no good reason, or when I'm overhearing moronic chick gossip at the local pub, etc.
Sunday was low-key; I played some WoW and tried to get my scanner to work. Neither one was particularly successful for most of the day, although the scanner finally decided to cooperate late last night. Grrr, technology.
I need to decide if I want to keep my hair black or not; I'm starting to get roots. Maybe after I get back from CA.
I am so not ready for Christmas.
