More Serenity Info for Local People: If we're feeling froggy, there is apparently a midnight showing on the 29th. Thoughts?
Yesterday flew by way too quickly for my liking. Blargh! Yoga was good, though, and I did better than I expected on my wushu basics. I have a ton of boring-but-necessary stuff to do tonight, so, uh, bleh. No fun!
I think my day would be much better if I had a cool theme song. Or a soundtrack that followed me everywhere. I have no desire for TV-esque drama, but a TV-esque soundtrack would rock. I could listen to what's playing and have it enhance my mood, or listen for suspenseful music so I can predict when something dramatic or awful is about to happen. Hee.
Seriously, I wish I had a method of having good music follow me through the day, that wasn't quite as isolating as wearing headphones 24/7. Although headphones can be nice for warding off annoying petitioners and bums asking for change, they do tend to discourage the non-irritating people in the process.
I never actually did my obligatory Survivor babble last week, so here it is: This crop of players may have some promise. At the very least, I don't hate any of them... which probably isn't saying much, seeing as this was only the first episode, but hey, some players of the past have made the bile rise in my throat before the first ep even ends.
I'm ambivalent about the "twist" of bringing back Bobby Jon and Stephenie. A lot of people seem to be crying foul about it, but I don't really care. For one, they could have brought back *far* worse people--Rahb/Ambuh and Fairplay immediately spring to mind--and really, the only folks I'd rather have seen are Skupin and maybe Hunter. I hear that they even offered the opportunity to Skupin and he turned it down, even, so it's not as though the producers didn't try. Also, BJ seems like a pretty fair choice, because he didn't actually get voted off.
Really, I think my mileage will vary depending on whether or not this season becomes The BJ and Steph Show or not. This is a new season, and we need to get to know the new people, so they ought to get some freakin' camera time.
It also depends--for me, anyway--on how BJ and Steph behave this time around. BJ seems to be about the same as he was before: pretty, earnest, a bit dim, and rather self-flagellating, so having him around won't bother me; he'll tap into the same qualities that got me in his corner the first time. Steph, on the other hand, seems to have gone a bit off the deep end with the whole, "I am so great and full of heart and determination!!" thing, and it's going to get old, FAST. Hopefully, she'll tone it down some in the coming weeks.
Oh yeah, I finally told TiVo to start grabbing Prison Break, so I watched that last night, and it was still pretty good. I may attempt to watch Bones tonight, primarily because I'm not used to seeing David Boreanaz without a kiloton of makeup or a liberally applied blue filter. ;p
That's all I've got.

Of course, with canalphones, you wouldn't hear the outside world anyway. XD
