New color scheme! As a weird coincidence, I noticed at random that the quick-and-dirty color choices I made for something I'm working on at the Job actually kind of go with my icon, so, voila and stuff. It still seems wrong that I don't have a pretty-boy J-rocker on my background, so I suppose I should fix that soonish. :D
I finally made it out to my new Taiji school yesterday, and took my first class! Let me just say, if I ever busted on Taiji or made wise-ass commentary about it in the past, I *totally* take it back, because it's hard stuff. (I don't take back anything in regards to the hippie-granola T'ai Chi practitioners, though--you can't be a true master if you're going to do it half-assed ^_-) Anyhoo, it's way different from wushu, and not just because it's slower, but because of the looseness and the body structure you have to be mindful of. I'm accustomed to doing things with more power, strength, and tension in wushu, so the biggest challenge for me seems to be not tensing up various joints while I do Taiji.
It's a very different sort of challenge, and at times, it makes me think that I'd be better suited for the Wing Chun classes. Thing is, I'm not a fan of sparring, and it seems like they do a *lot* of sparring in that class. I guess I'm better at reflecting upon and adjusting my own movements than anticipating another person's actions, you know? So, yeah: Forms = Yay! Sparring = BOO.
Anyway, yeah, things are starting to settle into a routine again, thank *GOD*. I've missed a lot of my regular activities. Taiji again tonight, lifting and/or yoga on Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday. RPing may happen on Saturday, if I can figure out which box contains my effin' RPG binder. ^^; (the office is by far the worst, post-move. Most of the house? Pretty normal and uncluttered. The office? Giant pile o' boxes ;p)
Dinner and a movie will probably happen, too. Unfortunately for me, said movie may very well turn out to be Herbie: Fully Loaded, because J hasn't picked in a while. Life is full of compromises. :)
