Music Poll! <3
Apr. 18th, 2005 01:28 pmAfter sitting at my desk all of yesterday, in a great big cube farm of which I was the lone occupant, the complete and utter lack of background noise started to drive me a little nuts. But, now that I've fixed the sound drivers on my work computer, I want to get a fledgling music collection going for at-my-desk listening, in the hopes that such madness NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN.
So, I pose this question to you:
If you were stuck on a desert island, and had only ten songs to listen to for some indeterminate length of time, what would they be?
Or, alternately:
If I was going into space for many months, and you were given the task of putting ten songs that *I* would love and enjoy onto my tiny, space person's data unit, what songs would you choose for me?
Whee! I look forward to your thoughts! (note: if 10 is either too many or too few for you, feel free to suggest whatever random number you choose)
EDIT: Sort of in the music vein: I forgot to mention that my burst of consumerism on Friday resulted in my getting a copy of KARAOKE REVOLUTION 3! :O I still need to get KR2, but I have an itch to give the duets mode on KR3 a go...

Date: 2005-04-19 06:58 am (UTC)1. It's a Crime by The Magnetic Fields or really anything by them, but I figured I would pick just one (though I also thought of choosing Absolutely Cuckoo)
2. Tank! by the Seatbelts (composed by Yoko Kanno)
3. Pick something by Three Legged Torso (I know not the names of their songs)
4. Bolero by Pink Martini
5. Kind of Blue by Miles Davis
6. Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce
7. Basket Case by Greenday
8. Pick one from the album "La Revanch Del Tango" by the Gotan Project. All the songs are good.
9. Cancion Del Mariachi by Los Lobos (from the Desparado soundtrack)
10. Miserable by Lit
11. Turntable by Rancid
12. Dune Buggy by the Presidents of the United States of America
13. A Daisy Through Concrete by the Eels.
14. Salt Peanus by Royal Crown Revue (or the original by Dizzy Gillespie)
15. Instant Pleasure by Rufus Waitnwright
16. Take Your Mama Out by the Scissor Sisters
17. About a Girl by Sex Mob
18. The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel
19. Hell by Squirrel Nut Zippers (really anything off the album "Hot" is good)
20. Rose Rouge by St. Germain
Enjoy! And I could do a completely different list more customized to your preference in music if you give me an idea of what that is. ;)
