This is so awesome: PacManhattan!
Today, I am SLEEPY, y'all. I got in to work a little after 8 today, and you know how getting up early in the morning didn't agree with me? Yeah, still doesn't. ;p
I would love to do something like this. Spending an entire month doing wushu in the country where the sport originated? And getting Chinese language training? *And* going overseas for the first time since I was probably 3 years old? SO AWESOME. Of course, there's the whole thing of A) coming up with $3000, and B) getting that much time off from work, and that pretty much renders it impossible. It kind of makes me wish I were a student again, so I'd have nice big blocks of open time over the summers. Thing is, if I were still in school, I'd have the time, but absolutely no chance at getting the money. At least right now, I'd be able to get the money. Sigh, something for another day, I suppose.
Practice yesterday succeeded in drilling home the point that I am still total crap at doing a butterfly kick. Granted, we haven't been practicing them hardly at all over the past few months, but still, I feel like something of a tool. But then later on, Phil attempted to teach us a new combo that involved some freaky pivoting, and while other people were stumbling around having trouble with it, I somehow nailed it almost right away. The things that I'm not good at don't seem to correlate with each other much, so it's hard to figure out how I should go about fixing them. Blargh. That's why I need China, y'all.
Sad computer update: Alphonse is giving me guff with the on-board sound drivers. Apparently, when you try to install the driver from the CD, it'll eat your Windows XP install for breakfast. Thank god I paid so little for the motherboard, because wow, does it suck. :p Time to take off the processor and get a better board, I say. At least the DVD burner appears to run like a champ, though. :D
In conclusion? Mondays are poop. Tuesdays are not much better, but whatever. At least this one will end promptly at 5pm!
P.S. Luna Bars are the BEST EVER.

Date: 2005-04-12 11:09 pm (UTC)Random question for ya - you bought a broadsword a while back, right? Did you have any problems shipping it to Eugene? (The website that I was looking at to buy one from said we had to check with local/state laws or something to ensure that they could ship weapons in our area). Also, did you buy it off of www.kungfudirect.com, or some other site?

Date: 2005-04-12 11:19 pm (UTC)I am pretty sure that I bought from KungFuDirect.com, and I didn't have any problems shipping it here. The only snag was that they couldn't really leave it for me because it was oddly sized, so I had to go to the P.O. and pick it up. :)
