If there's one thing that will motivate you to train harder, it's competing. Pre-tournament, I was hard-pressed to talk myself into doing much of anything, never mind any kind of physical training. Now I come back, and I'm wanting to train hard again. I'm looking forward to the weekend, though, because in spite of the desire to train, I'm also ready to sleep like the dead.
One of the guys in my general cube area just came back from being sick for two WEEKS. I almost feel like I should encase myself in a plastic bubble, because I do not want to be contaminated with *that* stuff. ;p Actually, a lot of people have been sick recently here at the office, so I'm kind of just cowering in fear of whatever germy badness may decide to leap out and attack me. I'm probably still kind of weak from the lack of sleep and all the takeout food last weekend, so hopefully anyone who's sick will steer clear!
Speaking of people in my area, there is *finally* another evil minion on our wee design team, and for some strange reason he reminds me of Arvid from Head of the Class. This is probably just because I watch too much TV, but so far he seems to be doing okay. :)
Oh yeah, I finally had a chance to put in my application for the new apartment yesterday, and got confirmed that I'm on the list with everyone else and all that, and I'm all fired up about it again! :D I'm excited about all of it, really. I'm going to dutifully squirrel away my tax refund and other extra money for new furniture and a kitty. Did I mention that one of Brandon's roommates had a very friendly cat? I woke up bright and early on the morning of the tournament, and the cat was there, snuggled up against my leg, awwww. I want kitties.
I really need to stop saying that. :p
God, I need to do my taxes, too. I don't think I've ever put them off for so long before; I usually have the refund in hand by mid-February. I guess it's easy to get things like that done early when you're just farting around in the dorms or whatever, but still, gah. I should probably feel lucky that I don't own a house or anything else that makes tax-doing complicated. ;p
Anyway, that's all I've got.

Date: 2005-04-06 10:58 pm (UTC)I woke up bright and early this morning to a pile of cat barf on my lovely custom-upholstered futon. You can have mine if you really want them that badly!
