uuuuuggggghhh
Mar. 29th, 2005 03:10 pmHoly crap I have THE WORST HEADACHE EVAR UUUUGGGHHH. And all the Excedrin is at home, of course.
Some new goal-setting for after Berkeley: learning some Chinese. I have to admit that I feel like kind of a lamer for being a half-Chinese kid who has no real knowledge of how to speak Chinese. I'm currently looking at Chinese in 10 Minutes a Day, because I'm generally pretty short on time, so this seems like the perfect sort of plan. It seems like stuff that I could use in real life, too, so I might actually get to use it once in a while.
I hope there's something like Yujin Gakuen available in my town when I have kids. An immersion program is such a cool idea, and I really hope to expose my kids to foreign languages when they're still young, and can pick them up more easily. Kids are like little sponges when it comes to things like language, and something like Yujin Gakuen would really take advantage of that. And, it would keep them sharp by having them use the language regularly. Language just loves to leak right out of your brain when you don't have the opportunity to use it often.
In other news, I totally overcompensated at practice yesterday for not training late last week. Too much power, yadda yadda yadda, and now the inside of my thumb and various parts of my hands are purple and/or bruised from slapping the ground too hard.
I must admit to feeling some trepidation about the tournament this weekend, because I am, in all probability, going to get schooled. LOL! I really fell off the wagon in the later part of last week, so I've been giving myself a lot of flak about that, but, man, I feel so much better after looking through some Xanga pages yesterday. It seems that quite a few of the people from the Davis tournament are yelping about how they've had almost no time to train for Berkeley, or they've trained like 3 times since Davis, or they've been sick, or have had no energy to train. Dude, I think I've trained like 3+ times a *week* since Davis. Well, maybe more like 2 or 2.5, if you don't count lifting. Still, I feel like less of a slacker, so I suppose I can stop internally berating myself about it so much. :)
Also, the difference between 64MB and 128MB of graphics card? HUGE. The water effects, the snow, everything in WoW looks effing amazing on Alphonse, with the 128MB installed. My *god*. Oh, and there's less lag, too. <3
Anyhoo, so ends another build. I'm off!
