Baaahahaha! Coby cracked me up with that comment on last night's episode. There's something about a snarky gay hairdresser that's just fun to observe. ;p
ANYWAY! The news segment aired last night, as some of you may have observed! It's good that I had the presence of mind to check, because I'd have completely missed it otherwise. At least one person here at the job saw it, and felt compelled to come by my desk and jabber about it earlier today. I must admit that kind of threw me of, because I wasn't really prepared to comment on it at the time. I mean, *I* don't normally watch the local news, so I guess it didn't occur to me that other people would be watching it out of habit, even though it should have. ;p
Anyhoo, it was pretty good. For some insane reason, they opened the segment with some footage of me doing part of my new changquan set. ::laughs:: I thought it looked kind of crap, because I didn't even know the whole form at that point, but it could have been worse. There was quite a bit of footage devoted to the first-years working on their weapons forms, and the more advanced people got some time, too. Lots of Phil and SA talking to the camera, because they were actually interviewed for it. Overall, it was pretty well-rounded and positive, and good exposure for us. Yay! Now, to figure out how the hell I can copy it from the TiVo and put it online, because some folks have been asking...
After the segment, the anchorlady made some comment about how "some of that looks kind of dangerous," and if you don't know what you're doing, you could hurt yourself. Heh, I could show her a nice menagerie of bruises that would easily prove the point. ;p
I'm feeling super-cranky and tired and generally out of sorts today. Oh, and my knees hurt, not surprisingly. Blargh.
That's all I've got for now. Begone, headache, begone!
EDIT: Apparently, some or all of the segment is on the KMTR website! Go here and click on the "NEW SPORT: Would you wushu?" link. Yay!
