My gran used to say that and my reply was "yes, if you are a television" It is still a widely used in Italy for scaring the girls of loosing their virginity...OBVIOUSLY didn't work for me.

OHHHH! Another one my paternal Granma used to say and it doesn't really translate well but it goes like "Better loose an eye than loose your reputation" Which I am not even gonna go into it for I am insane enough!
