Absent Without Leave
Dec. 13th, 2004 03:08 pmNOTE: Work will be busy this week. And by busy, I mean hellabusy. I'll probably be a crap friend between now and at least Wednesday, so cut me some slack on my response time, eh?
Anyway, I'm taking a short mental break for some interviewage! This one, courtesy of
kelaar:
1. Where is the most amazing place you've ever been?
You know, I wish I had a better answer to this, because I've been all over the country, but there wasn't always much in the way of sightseeing involved. (in other words, we were usually driving cross-country from a former home to a new home)
The Japanese Garden in Portland comes to mind. It was a place that really resonated with me much more strongly than I expected. Just being there and taking in the environment gave me a truly amazing feeling. And on top of that, I was also wandering about the place with one of my best friends ever.
Also, Quebec City in Canada was a real experience. My dad and I went to Le Vieux Quebec (i.e. the old historical part of the city) and although I was young and too chicken to try out any French on the Quebecois while I was there, it was a neat, kind of immersive experience--great old castles and history to it.
2. When bored in Eugene, where do you wish you were?
Japan! ::rotfl:: But seriously, I think that when I get bored, I spend more time thinking about what I'd rather be doing than where I'd rather be going. Either that, or whom I'd rather be with. I find that I'm usually a lot more tied to people and experiences than physical locations.
3. Do you think you'll ever have kids, and if so what will their names be?
Yeah, I'll have kids at some point. I like to think that I have a way with children--at the very least, they seem to like me--and I'd probably have at least a few good things to pass on to the next generation.
As far as naming goes, I am pretty fairly set on having a Cameron--boy or girl, doesn't matter. :) I'm not sure, otherwise. I *CAN* tell you for certain that there will be no Sarahs, Jennifers, Johns, or Michaels springing forth from my loins. My progeny will not be given the sort of first name that 5 other kids in the room will also have. Because you know? It gets annoying, now and then. ;p
4. How many oranges could you eat in the space of five minutes?
Not enough. Those things are tasty, y'all. Of course, this would also be entirely dependent on size, and if I had to peel them myself. The act of peeling them makes me want to eat them less, because I'm rather lazy, and I hate getting orange peel under my fingernails. (I'm bordering on obsessive-compulsive when it comes to keeping my hands clean and dry)
5. Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
Not since he stopped returning my calls. Jerk! ;p
In other news:
1) I got my hair done by a new stylist, because my old salon closed down due to a lease hike. Sad news, but the new stylist had a cute personality (reminiscent of Alicia, at times), and was very competent. My new color job is *awesome*. Photos are forthcoming.
2) I rescued my sword from the post office this morning; the scabbard is *nice*. Not nearly as ghetto-looking as my straightsword scabbard. Can't wait to try it out... it'll probably be a few days, unfortunately. :p
3) Found an extended-relief verson of my happy blue pills this morning. 8-12 hours of pain-free goodness! Loving it.
Anyway, back to work, and such.
