Memetastic!
Dec. 8th, 2004 05:27 pmD'oh, finished this earlier and forgot to post it. Duh. ;p
First, a random question for you all, via a post
a_wags linked to:
What is the weirdest, dumbest, and/or most insulting gift you've ever gotten?
My answer? I won't go into much detail, but the most insulting gift I've gotten, by far, is a gift that was an obvious re-gift. It was obvious that was re-gifted because *I* had given that person the gift for Christmas the previous year. Blunderiffic, I tell you.
I can't think of any truly weird or dumb gifts that I've gotten, though, thank GOD.

And now, a stolen meme + interview from
storm_dancer:
1. Do you enjoy hentai?
Hentai in the traditional sense? *EW.* Naughy tentacles are not my idea of entertainment. ;p
I'd be lying if I said that yaoi wasn't pretty fun, at times. :D But even then, I don't tend to go for the super-graphic stuff. If there's not an interesting relationship involved, then it's rather meh. I don't think I've ever read a PWP fanfic for any purpose beyond laughing at how badly-written it is.
2. How did you end up in Oregon?
My daddy got a job at the now-closed Trojan Nuclear Power Plant. We'd already moved quite a bit prior to this, so after the plant closed, he didn't think it was the best idea to drag me halfway across the country *yet* again to his next job, so me and my ma wound up staying.
3. Do you want to stay there? If not, where do you hope to end up?
Yes, actually. Eugene is not my ideal, but it's not the worst. Oregon is cool, in general. I really like the Portland metro area, though. If I didn't settle here, I think Washington would be a cool place to live.
4. Once you've reached a high level of training, many martial arts schools require you to master a different style of martial arts. If your school does/did, what style would you take next?
I'm currently training through the University Club Sports program, so I'm not really required to do that. And you know, I seriously wonder if I will *ever* get that good, esp. given that I'm already an old fart by the standards of competitive wushu! ::laughs:: They do say that the top competitors peak around age 21, and I hadn't even started yet at that age.
I have thought about taking up taiji/tai chi, though, and it is definitely on my list for next summer. If not taiji, it would most likely be another Chinese martial art or some other "soft" martial art with more emphasis on flexibility and movement than pure strength. Because I have little wussy arms.
5. What is your livejournal name from (And if you say Booster Gold I will drive to Oregon and give you a kiss on the cheek)?
Unfortunately, it was kind of an arbitrary choice--I was in my early, early teens at the time, so I originally began as "Skeeter", as in Skeeter from the Muppet Babies. (SHUT UP. LMAO) I settled on that because it started with S. Initially, this was a rather unfortunate choice, because right around the time that the Nickelodeon series Doug came out, every new person I chatted with started assuming I was male, because of Doug's (male) friend Skeeter. ::eyeroll::
Once I got past that, the name actually seemed to fit me rather well on its own, so it stuck. Then, the Skeeter name eventually cycled through a bunch of permutations through my online interactions: Skeets, Skeeterino, Batskeets, etc. Not an exciting story, but that's what it is!
1 -- Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 -- You'll include this explanation.
5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed
In other news, USPS package tracking is such a waste of time. My broadsword shipped two days ago, and the only package tracking info available is that the package was to be "expected for shipping," and it's been like that since day 1. At this rate, that sword is going to arrive before they ever post a status update, so what's the point of having it tracked at all?
Tonight, I'm going dress shopping with
junsiew, and we're hopefully going make it out to see Closer. Yay on both counts!
