"It's clobberin' time!"
Sep. 23rd, 2004 02:07 pmYes, I'm back from the dead, sort of. But now: it's meme taimu!

Now that I seem to be on the upswing health-wise, I vote for seeing Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow this weekend! I have no idea if it will be any good, but it looks so pretty and stylistically interesting that I want to go anyway.
And in other news, there is an upcoming Fantastic Four movie... with Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards! ::boggle:: I am both fascinated and puzzled by this casting choice, because, well, he's just so young and pretty, and not at all dad-like! But acting-wise, he can totally pull it off. But on the other hand, there are some other choices they've made that are pretty terrifying. Also: Jessica Alba? Will make a horrific blond. But I'll probably still go see it, because I'm Marvel's bitch. Or Ioan's bitch. Take your pick. (yes, I *did* watch another chapter of Hornblower last night, why do you ask? ;p)
Some retard called 3 times between 8:45 and 9:15 this morning, and I seriously wanted to stab him, because they woke me up early with the first call, and continually hung up on the answering machine. When I finally caught the guy, it turned out that he had a wrong number! Jackass.
Thing is, I wouldn't even have minded that much, if it weren't for the fact that the phone was ringing off the hook yesterday, in exactly the same non-message-leaving fashion, while I was trying to sleep off the rest of my fever. If this moron was responsible for my not being able to get any decent rest during the day, I owe him many more stabbings.
I hate the phone. :p The people who call me are almost never the people I actually *want* to hear from.
EDIT:

Date: 2004-09-23 03:05 pm (UTC)Sky Captain was a "fun" movie, that would have fit better with it's original July release date. It's not the best, but it is stylish and even unique, and not a lot of films can say that.
Hmm...

Jessica Alba actually looks like she can pull it off.

You were listening to The New Pornographers!
Which reminds me, I'm totally gonna start up that buy_this_album community again(although I think I will not be able to title it that). Are you still interested in joining almost seven months later?

Date: 2004-09-23 07:43 pm (UTC)And I agree re: The Human Torch vs. Mr. Fantastic. Torch is working some crazy Luke-Perry-esque forehead wrinkles, while Reed looks all pristine and young.
Ioan is awesome, so I can't bring myself to suggest throwing him out, but they should definitely have gone younger(-looking) with some of the other actors, if they liked him that much for the role.

Date: 2004-09-24 08:06 am (UTC)Or, maybe not, but they're not working for me. And Reed's face is so young, those gray temples look like a bad Halloween costume. :P
