Well, on my drive home, I encountered what was possibly one of the most simultaneously cute and frightening moments in recent memory. I was driving along Franklin at 5:30a, when, a little before Onyx St., I saw a duck toddling across the street, so I had to stop and let it cross. *Then* I noticed that there were two incredibly cute, and fuzzy baby ducks in tow behind her. They were so tiny that I almost didn't see them in the early morning light. I was having a total cuteness overload over the sight of them crossing the street in formation.

Then, I saw a semi truck coming up the lane next to me in my side mirror, and with how hard it was for *me* to see the baby ducks, I figured it was even harder for the truck driver to see them. So, I kind of spazzed and started honking at the ducks to try and get them moving across the street faster, and they started to, but then they stopped in the middle of the road to wait for a *third* baby duck to catch up.

So, I was having horrifying visions of poor defenseless ducklings being crushed under huge tires, but fortunately, the trucker stopped and honked a couple times at the ducks until they crossed. :) Phew. I guess the ruckus I made, combined with the fact that my car was stopped at a completely random point on an empty street was weird enough to be noticeable.

In other news, the guy in charge of project I bid on yesterday ACTUALLY CALLED ME TODAY. ::plotz:: I didn't realize this until it was too late in the evening to call back. (I was a little ticked off at the phone when I got up, because said guy was one of eighty-freakin'-billion people who called during the morning and interrupted my sleep! Grrr :p) But, you bet your sweet bippy I'll be calling back first thing when I wake up!

I didn't get all my errands done this afternoon, because I slept late, and traffic was a beast. I got some bubble tea and pad thai for my trouble, though, so I can't complain. (I figured out how to make peanut sauce for the pad thai when I got home... yum!) Otherwise, I did nothing but work, and work, and work some more. Blar. :p

To Do List: Eweb, freelance, company site. And, I'm spent.

Heh, well, I can't tell you 100% because I didn't have every single component, but I worked from this recipe (http://www.absoluterecipes.com/sauces-rec/thai-peanut-sauce.html).

It was definitely no substitute for Tasty Thai, but it did make the plain pad thai more exciting. :) I'll have to try again after I get the ingredients I was missing.
