BLAR. I slept like utter crap last night, because random things kept waking me up. I'm feeling rather dizzy right now, for some reason. But at least my allergies have calmed down.

I learned earlier that Symantec offered the job to someone else, whee. ;p I kind of expected that, so I guess it's nice to know so soon. If you have to get rejected, it might as well happen as quickly as possible. Less time for you to sit around getting your hopes up about it.

And the temp agency called me back crazy-fast, so I figure this must mean that they have something else in mind for me. I hope it's something a bit closer to my desired field--I kind of feel like I'm being passed over because they expect me to run off as soon as I get a good web job, because I have all this design and scripting and database experience on my resume. Not that any web jobs are actually *biting* right now, but whatever. ::eyeroll::

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit downtrodden today. Not to mention that the parental units (well, one of them, anyway) have this idea in their head that I should move to L.A. My first thought is that I'd probably go postal after a week in Los Angeles. If there was a good job for me there, then I suppose it'd be worth it, but moving down to L.A. to flip burgers or wait tables sounds like My Personal Hell. I suppose you have to do what you have to do, but, ugh. I'd almost rather move to the deep South and shuck corn or something. :p

I'm thinking about checking out Seattle or San Fran, though. Web tech seems to be quite strong in those places, so there must be something for me, right? And they'd be a good fit for me as places to live, too. Only thing is, I don't have anywhere to stay in either place. I'd probably have people whom I could crash with for a day or two, but I figure I'd have to be around for at least a couple weeks in order to get any decent employment leads.

Anyway, I'm going to finish writing this cultural awareness statement for TCC, so I can mail that off tomorrow. I may post more assignments later tonight at The Board. But not until after Survivor/CSI. :D

hmm, if i had to shuck anything in the south, i'd rather shuck oysters. i saw a show about oyster shuckers on food network and they seemed to be having fun. of course, i don't think they would show people shucking them who hated their job.
