Because I need to stop squinting at Illustrator for a few minutes:

1) Music
My personal pursuits in this area have basically dwindled down to singing along with my MP3s when I'm on the computer, or with the CDs I have in my car. I'd love to be able to play piano and/or join a singing group again, but opportunities seem limited. One of the first things I want to buy when I start making real money is a really good electronic keyboard.

As for what I'm listening to, I've been going crazy (again) over Rufus Wainwright. And Elvis Costello, for some reason. And,

starkodama may have sparked a David Bowie binge with her recent recap of his concert. Hee.

2) Movies
I haven't seen nearly enough of them over the past year. I am resolving to go and rent Lost In Translation as soon as is humanly possible. I think I might see Master and Commander this weekend, or something. People keep telling me to see Love, Actually, too. Maybe a trip to the buck-fifty is in order?

3) TV
I've been watching Smallville/Angel pretty much every week, because any opportunity to hang out with friends is good. And Angel has actually been pretty awesome, this season. I watch the Daily Show when I'm not working, because I owe it to My Fantasy Boyfriend Jon Stewart.

And I've been watching Survivor All-Stars, too, but that's just because I'm a big loser. :D

4) Books
I'm actually reading more often, since finishing up with school, so yay! It's not doing a lot for my sleep schedule, though. I'm currently mired in The Count of Monte Cristo and Of Love and Other Demons.

5) In The Kitchen
I just baked a cake! Hee. :D I've also resolved to figure out how to make those Chinese Egg Custard tarts in time for the DDS bake sale, which will happen a couple weeks from now. I loved those things when I was little!

6) Writing
All this job hunting, freelancing, and other attempts to scrape together money haven't given me time for anything aside from my usual round of LJ posts. I have a magazine article or three to write in the near future, though, and I hope to finish UTK in time for Nanoedmo.

7) Gratitude
I'm grateful to have people around me who are intelligent, kind-hearted, and fun. Anyone who gives me a reason to smile is someone very valuable, now more than ever.

8) Life
Life is pretty terrifying right now, but in a very subtle way that quietly gnaws at the back of my brain. The transition from college to adult life is even more emotionally taxing than I first expected. Things *are* starting to look up, but that lingering sense of worry is still hanging on for dear life, back there.

My work is going well tonight! I *still* have a headache, even though I took Excedrin and am concentrating on keeping my posture decent, but I'm doing some good work. Excitement! I love being reminded of why I chose this field.
