Well, as about a dozen posts have already told some of you, it snowed like crazy in Oregon and northern CA, so I'm still here in Morro Bay. When we looked at the road and weather conditions this morning, I-5 was completely closed north of Redding, and Oregon was requiring chains and/or 4-wheel drive. It's supposed to clear up tomorrow, so I'll wake up early again and give it another go then.

And of *course*, this happens when I'm out of the state, so I'm currently missing *YET* another opportunity to take snow pictures! There's only rain down here at my parents' house. BOOOOO.

Anyway, my dad and I figured out how to change the oil on Ed earlier, because Ed passed the 3000 mile mark on my drive down here! Gweee! The factory-installed oil filter was a pain to remove, though, partly because whoever designed my car, didn't really design it for people who might want to change their own oil. :p My dad eventually had to go buy a special socket wrench fitting in order to get at it and loosen it. It should be easier to deal with the next time, at least.

There was talk of seeing another movie today, but the stupid heating guy hasn't come yet, and apparently he could arrive as late as 8:00pm! So, I think we're kind of stuck here until the lanky git shows up. :p

I've been killing time by reading The Count of Monte Cristo, watching more Bond flicks, and looking for PS2 auctions on eBay. Most of the auctions are going to be a couple more days before I'll do any serious bidding. Mostly, I'm trying to keep myself distracted from the fact that it's so cold in the house.

Meanwhile, I've acquired a couple extra computer parts: a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a network card. I may be able to score a video card, too, which would be great for the music/video server I hope to build.

Anyway, yeah. Just mentioning that my departure didn't proceed as scheduled.

Yeah, I've driven through Oregon and northern CA multiple times in the winter, and it's always a chore. Make SURE you have chains, because even if it isn't snowing, the remaining snow and ice may cause a requirement for chains anyway. And go nice and slow ... black ice is a bad thing. Hell, I almost lost control of my car a couple of times last night.

Good luck!
