Damn you, [livejournal.com profile] junsiew! The truffles you gave me are too delicious! ;p I haven't eaten all seven of them, though, so that's probably a good sign.

Anyway, I got an e-mail today from a male NJ who is looking for a conversation partner. I'm jazzed about that, but also weirded out, because I've never had a conversation partner before, and I have no idea how it's going to work. I'm probably far too mystified by and worried about it. Still, any Japanese practice is good, especially since my speaking and listening skills are getting pretty awful, as of late.

I picked up my print at Kinko's today, and it's actually looking pretty good, I think. I hope this turns out as nice as I envisioned, even if probably I can't afford a frame for it. It's 30x7 inches, so it's a non-standard frame size, and the guy at the frame shop gave me some exorbitant price as a bottom-of-the-line, starting figure. I may scout out more frame shops tomorrow to see if I can do better, but I don't know how that will go. I wonder if I could make my own?

I also went to the Rec and did some lifting, *and* some wushu. My lifting session was good--I've kept active enough to not lose much ground in strength training. I'm already starting to lose some of the flexibility I gained through wushu, though, which is annoying. But, if I stick to it, it'll come back before January. I'm still bummed at the lack of practices over the break, though. Apparently I'm the only weirdo who hangs around Eugene for this long after finals. ;p

Naruto 63 is out! It's not the ANBU-AonE release, but I'm downloading it anyway. :D

I felt like posting right now, for some reason, but I should really get on the knitting--I made a lot of progress yesterday, but there's still a ways to go, yet. I'll probably hop on the computer again later for some late-night scripting or graphics work.

Yeah, but it's definitely lower-key and not as bad at the gym right now--I was there at 6-ish, and there were actually elliptical machines available when I got there! Usually it's packed and you have to wait at least an hour.

You could always go with a more standard frame size and a custome mat...

Also, when Michaels' puts an ad in the paper (just about every sunday this time of year, closer to every other week the rest of the year, though), they almost always have a coupon in it for 40% off a custom frame - that may ease the pain on your wallet...

i had a dream about you and your conversation partner last night. you and him were meeting at a hot spring in the middle of winter to go swimming. he said he was 44 years old, but he really looked to be as old as my grandpa. anywho, in my dream you were creeped out at first by the whole situation, but got comfortable. of course the entire time you guys were speaking in english, because i don't know any other languages, consciously or subconsciously, lol. a little into the conversation, he handed you this bizarre toy. it was supposed to be a cow-ish toy that spoke japanese. it was like a plastic ball with painted cow print, then 5 or 6 arms and legs sticking out around the center of the ball. and in the middle of all that was a scooby doo head. it looked cow-ish, but when you turned it upside down, then right side up it was scooby doo speaking japanese. and in my dream you had a thing for cows anyway, so this was multi-meaningful (the love for cows thing may have been just a little bit of me seeping into the dream. i don't know if *you* love cows, but i do).
about a hundred yards behind where you and the old man were, there were two bridges between two cliffs. one cliff was maybe 50 feet above the water and the bridge was very sturdy. the second of the cliffs was hundreds of feet above the water, the bridge was sort of like the indiana jones, wooden bridges with planks missing and the rope stringing it all together, coming undone. anyway, these bridges were capable of lowering people and their cars into the water. the smaller bridge could do it just fine, didn't really sway in the wind, because it was newer and well built. the other bridge was packed with people and their vehicles, and while it was lowering people into the water, it looked like a pendulum(sp?) and you were freaking out, because it looked like the bridge was going to give at any moment. and then i woke up. *blink blink*

LOL!! What a bizarre dream!

I seriously hope my conversation partner isn't 44, because I have no idea what we'd talk about. ::asdlkfhsdaflkahsdfk:: I can make small talk with Real Adults okay in English, but I'm sure I'd do something completely dame talking to an Adult NJ.
