So there's this signboard out on one of the churches in town, and it currently says: "Any book can inform, only the Bible transforms." Which caused me to seriously wonder if anyone has gone in there yet and asked something like, "So, what *does* the Bible transform into, exactly? A car? A spaceship? A robotic lion? My kids will love this!!"
Wow, I'm mean. ::rotfl:: That's apparently my thing these days: making fun of signboards that are trying to hard to be clever. (did I mention that I'm probably going straight to hell?? ;pppp)
Work was pretty lame last night. Ty and I were "the bitch van," as he put it, because we got all the far-flung rides. And less than half of our riders actually showed up! And we got practically nothing for tips, too. We must smell funny or something. ;p
I need to come up with a Halloween costume, because it's friggin' October already! x_x It's kind of hard to do that when my sewing machine is still waiting on parts, though. Still, I think I need a new idea. See, I had been all hyped to dress as a pirate for this Halloween since last November, but *that* idea came to me before Pirates of the Caribbean came out.
From what I've observed, the obsession factor with PotC might actually be within spitting distance of LotR, and that's pretty huge, because there are some positively scary LotR fans out there. So now, I just bet there will be a veritable host of Captain Jack Sparrows and miscellaneous pirate goons running about this Halloween. :p Oh well, I'll think of something.
So I'm just chilling out here, and the gaggle is RPing next door. Theoretically,
junsiew and I are supposed to go see a movie or something today. Apparently Lost In Translation is finally showing here in town, so that's high on my list.
And! I'm out.

Date: 2003-10-04 05:08 pm (UTC)I always forget Halloween exists. I always want to dress up but then it's too late by the time I remember and nothing sounds appealing. I'm a bad Halloweener. :(
And if Go-Gaia is any indication, Pirates of the Caribbean is full of insane nutso fans ready to call it the greatest movie ever only months after it came out.

Date: 2003-10-04 07:57 pm (UTC)Oh, and there's one near City College (along the MUNI line) that has, on its giant sign post: Yeah. Quotation marks included. And it's PRINTED on the sign, it's not like those little single letters put up there like for movies & concerts. So- are they quoting someone, or do the quotation marks imply there's some hidden sarcastic meaning in the phrase "loves you"? Perhaps '"loves you" by making your life fucking miserable'?
