Sep. 13th, 2003 08:10 amGod, WHY am I still awake?
Oh yeah, because I was playing Quest for Glory I! Oh, the nostalgia! ::rotfl::
Before that, I briefly played Maniac Mansion. In FRENCH! XD That was pretty entertaining. It's actually quite amazing how much I can decipher, after having not studied the language for years.
I love that I can have a spontaneous thought about some incredibly nerdy relic from my childhood, like an old computer game I used to play, and I don't just have to settle for my own patchy recollection anymore. Why should I, when after a few minutes of idle web searching, I can be watching the opening cut scene, with the familiar sound of PC Internal Speaker music ringing in my ears?
Tonight, I got to play a game that I haven't even touched since I was probably 11, and my family was running a 286 Packard Bell, and good lord, it's still as fun as I remember. This is why I love the Internet.
Okay, bedtime for Bonzo.

Date: 2003-09-13 09:08 am (UTC)Just recently I found a copy of Oregon Trail. XD We used to play this in elementary school on... an Apple? I'm pretty sure it was an Apple... but I mean, we're talking about when I was FIVE (1985), so it's considerably "old."
The best part about playing the games over is that the parts I used to think were SUPA MEGA HARD are now really easy. I can actually beat games that I used to get frustrated over! XD
