God must be teasing me--I've been seeing a lot of random advertisements recently for adopting kittens. For FREE, even! I would *love* to adopt a kitten right now, but we're not allowed to keep pets in our building.

Of course, whenever I mention this whole wanting of kittens thing, somebody always says that I should get a puppy instead. To which I say, THERE WILL BE NO PUPPIES.

It's not that I have anything against puppies. They're terribly cute, and generally quite friendly, and I wouldn't mind having one of those, either.

But, I've never had a fur-bearing pet. EVER. No cats, no dogs, no hamsters or gerbils, nothing. I had a couple fish, but that's about it. I *really* want a kitten. I've always wanted a kitten. DO NOT TRAMPLE UPON MY DREAM! ;_;

Anyway, it has been a fairly lazy Sunday. I went out and picked up a couple small things that we've needed for a while, and I'm freelancing now.

Wow, I was ready to be amazed by Fox because they're airing Crouching Tiger right now, but I quickly learned that they're airing a DUBBED version. Yes, we can't possibly show anything that requires our viewers to *read*, can we? ;p

And I'm off.

Gah! I HATED that they showed the dubbed version. I found out about 20 seconds after I flipped to it, and, for some reason, the dubbing made the movie seem low quality to me.

Skeets wants a pet:
Can't you sneak one? On second thought, I don't want you to be evicted...

Yeh, sneaking a pet would be bad. The girl who used to live next door tried to sneak in a new kitten, but it tore up the carpet really bad in one place, so she lost her security deposit, and had to get rid of the cat as soon as possible after she was discovered. And she also had to pay for the apartment to be bug bombed in case of fleas or anything of that ilk. Pain in the arse, really.

There's something about the dubbing process in general that makes a film seem less genuine. I figured I was just jaded from watching too much subtitled anime. :)

Yeah same here. It reminded me of one of those cheap kung-fu movies from the 70's. It made me sad. In my heart.

#1- cats > dogs. Dogs have to be taken outside all the time. Cats are pretty maintenance-free. Plus, they don't drool or hump your leg.

#2- the dub is HORRIBLE. My mom watched the dub. The main security guard has this TERRIBLE British accent & at one point actually says "What the devil?" Blargh.

You could do what I'm gonna do and volunteer at the animal shelter to be a cat wrangler?

You overestimate the average intelligence of Fox viewers.

From the network that brought you World's Scariest Police Chases and Who Wants to Marry A Millionaire...
