I simply *must* direct your attention to the most recent Penny Arcade strip, which was apparently made in response to this political cartoon. The Penny Arcade guys summed up my beliefs regarding violence in tv/film/games so, so well.

Anyhoo, I have meeting soon. I'm sleepy, but eh, what can you do. Today may involve donating plasma. I'm already getting a bit weirded out by the prospect.

I should probably eat something before I go. ::poof::

I don't play many video games, but the couple I do play (Carmageddon and one or two others) are quite violent, and in fact, I believe they do keep me from going postal, on occasion.

As humans, we all have the primal urge to destroy shit, and that's okay. I think the problem comes from when people can't discern between virtual and real, or they place a heightened importance on the virtual.

True, but my one blood donation experience wasn't terribly pleasant. Fortunately, the money aspect is motivation enough to get past that. :)
