"I've come for an argument!"
Jul. 19th, 2003 06:56 amWork was hectic tonight--our last pickup included a girl who was so "tired" (read: drunk) that she was laying down on the pavement while her friends stood around waiting for us. Her boyfriend asked us to back the van up closer, because they had to lift her into the van. At least we ended the night with some good tips, though. Woo!
On the plus side, I got to have a Slurpee this evening, and I got to run by Taco Hell and nab James a bunch of crunchy tacos for the 24-hour RP session that they are currently mired in. I think they're at ~8 hours right now? I wonder if he has any left... >:D
Anyway, I'm giving the MySQL install another shot--at least if it fails this time, I can copy down whatever error message it pukes out, and maybe give somebody who's more savvy something to go on. I might soon be accepting
niro's incredibly awesome offer at least temporarily, depending on how this attempt goes. ^^;;;
And guh, somebody get me off of Gaia. I'm lounging around on their boards while I wait for stuff to compile. Man, some of these kids have *no* taste. :p I'm kind of feeling my years because, amazingly, my tastes have actually matured! ::laughs:: I did make a poll thread about voting on your favourite Smember, however, and now somebody's blabbing with me about Shingo Mama. SMASMA!!
Also: I simply cannot believe that they're going to start showing Iron Chef USA on Food Network! Have the execs been living under a rock? There's a reason why it didn't last on UPN--it was crap! Anyone and *everyone* who's a fan of the original Iron Chef thinks that the USA version was a steaming pile of dung. I'll watch all the Iron Chef repeats they want to show me, just don't foist this watered-down pap on me!
You'd think they'd learn not to "improve" Japanese programming in such a manner. Americanizing programs from Japan never seems to come out well--even dubbing over the voices can be painful enough by itself, and that's when they *don't* revise/chop up the story concept. Would it really kill us to be exposed to other cultures?
Bah, enough rambling from me. ::poof::
