batskeetsDude, my Foreign Language Day presentation was TEH ICHIBAN. :D I didn't realize how totally awesome it was until I packed the room full for both sessions. I was volunteering as the Official FLIS Thug guarding the door, for a presentation by this Armenian woman, earlier in the day, and she had maybe 6 kids in the room. It was interesting stuff, and she had a lot to say, but the turnout was disappointing. :( I think some schools hadn't arrived on campus yet, though, so that probably had something to do with it.
But man, by the time my presentation rolled around, I got like 40+ kids in each session--there weren't even enough chairs for them all. ^^;; I showed them ~20 bands, and they seemed to dig it. I am so 1337. They flipped out when I got to the obligatory Visual Kei segment, though. Apparently, people still can't handle men who dress up like hot goth/punk chicks! ASDFKASDFLAKSDFHAKL! We're so repressed in this country.
I'm proud. I did a far more awesome presentation than last year--I had videos and photos and a slide show on the computer, whereas last year I couldn't even get the projector to work. I need to lobby for a bigger room if I ever do this again, though, because we had to turn a lot of people away. I must spread the gospel of J-Rock! :O
So now, I'm at work, of course. I'm off in about an hour, and then I kick it at home until 10pm when I work AGAIN. Because my life is so exciting, you know. ::rotfl:: Yeah, it's no fun, but I have to, in order to have tomorrow off.
