Blegh. I know I've complained about this before, but I really need to get over myself when it comes to talking on the phone.
I have a potential client who e-mailed asking about ideas for a session, and she wrote back sounding very interested. BUT, then she she asked for my number so she could call me and discuss further, and of course, I really don't want to send it. For some reason, talking on the phone just strikes terror into me, and it's fairly silly.
My phone conversations always feel 100 times more awkward than my in-person conversations. I'm not sure why this is, but I suspect it's because, if you're not great with social interaction in general, you feel even worse when you don't have the added social cues you get by being able to see their face and body language. And, well, I've never really been the type to have long phone conversations, anyway--I'll call if I have a question to ask or details to work out, but "hey, how are you," calls are an almost-never rarity for me.
I guess it's not such a big thing from a social standpoint, since there's all kinds of electronic media that helps me keep in touch with people. But, if it starts to get in the way of my goals, then it needs to stop. I'm ridiculous about this and I need to calm the eff down.
If you ever wondered why I'm such a text junkie, now you know. ;p
ANYWAY, I made this last night: Tofu Fettuccini Alfredo. The sauce texture turns a bit weird when reheated in the microwave, but it still tastes fine. And when it's freshly-made, ommmnomnom!
