--I'm actually happy to be back at work today. As much as I really, *really* didn't want to go out into the frigid air this morning, the sickness and the snow essentially had me housebound for five days straight, so I was more than ready to go *somewhere*.

--Sickness-wise, I am mostly-functional. Really tired and scratchy-voiced, but I am going to wushu today, so I'm not that bad-off. My skin is really raw and unhappy, between the cold winds and my constant nose-blowing. And of course, if I moisturize, it gives me pimples. 99% of the time my skin is great, so I suppose that means it has to be extra-annoying during the 1% of bad.

--It is *totally* baking and soup weather! <3 I made Black Bean and Sweet Potato Stew on Sunday, and the Boy made cornbread to go with. Then I improvised some mostly-vegan oatmeal-fudge mini-marshmallow cookies. Yesterday was chicken and veggie casserole for dinner, and then more (not vegan) cookies courtesy of Andy. Can you say nomnom? I really hope to get a new crock pot soon.

--The furnace blower went out yesterday, so we got some wood for the fireplace, and hooked up a few space heaters. It is definitely not warm, but we're surviving, and a guy was supposed to come by to check out the furnace this morning, so it should hopefully be short-lived.

--I'm working on a scarf, now that the glitzy red scarf and fingerless gloves are finally done. Keeping it really basic so I can get it out fast and give it to Serafin, since he has virtually no winter wear. (what do I need with another scarf, anyway?) I'm also making more fingerless gloves for me, with some really cool variegated yarn I got from [livejournal.com profile] junsiew, because my favorite (not made-by-me) pair of them has been MIA since the move in August. I swear, half the reason I hate moving house is because I can't find anything for months afterwards.

--I'm rather concerned as to whether or not the pass will be open when I need to drive through it early next week. I can't afford to buy a plane ticket this late in the game, so I'm basically boned if I can't get through there. I suppose my backup plan would be staying in Eugene with the Boy, and that'd be fine, but I haven't missed Christmas with the family, uh, EVER. I guess we'll see how it shakes out.

Lots of work to get done this week. Mrrrr.
