Those on the Friends List should log in and see New Year's party info!

The gods have blessed me, for I've found: BUBBLE TEA WITH ALCOHOL.

Boba is already effin' crack in its normal format, so if you'd asked me how to improve it, I wouldn't have a good answer. But now? Oh yes, I've been enlightened. XD I didn't find out that they had the stuff until I was already far too stuffed to try one, but MY GOD I MUST HAVE ONE. Soon... very soon...

Anyhoo, the thing that led me to this discovery was a Ron Paul meetup event. We watched some good clips, kept tabs on the Tea Party '07 money bomb, and there was excellent food and drink, and even a live fusion jazz band that mixed in samples from Ron Paul speeches. Yeah, this crowd knows how to put together an event!

As for the results? Ron Paul raised over 6 million dollars yesterday! I'm sorry, but that's completely bananas. Some of those dollars were mine, too, so I was one of the many first-time donators! I'm surprised there hasn't been more news coverage yet.

Saturday was fun, too. We parked it at the Albina Press and I got a huge chunk of my backlog done, so I can finally breathe easy again. We randomly ran into Jeremy there, too, which was funny. We wound up going out with some other folks later for drinks, and it involved some wandering around looking for a reasonably cool spot, but we found something, in the end. And can I just say? An $18 cover charge for a band I've never heard of is ludicrous. (Dante's on Saturday = FAIL)

We also went out for Ethiopian food before our other adventures, which was an interesting experience: everyone eats multiple dishes from one huge plate, and instead of utensils, you tear off a piece of crepe-like flatbread and use it to grab bites of food. It was super-tasty, and hopefully at least quasi-authentic.

Back in the realm of everyday life, I only have a few more days left at work before I leave town for the holiday. Training has been kind of a mixed bag... I didn't cross-train nearly enough last week, what with being all swamped with work.

So, yeah, feeling kind of pudgy and lazy. I'm going to make good on my training this week, though, now that the big projects are no longer hanging over my head. Huzzah!
