We watched A History of Violence last night, and after hearing people rave about it so much, I was surprised to find myself feeling pretty nonplussed by it. It's never a good sign when the ending credits start rolling, and your first thought is, "...that's it?"
I'll also put forth the thought that people should just not ever have sex in movies. Yeah, I know, some people very much enjoy their naked famous people, but can you really think of a sex scene in a movie that wasn't A) wildly gratuitous, B) utterly ridiculous, and/or C) not at all in tune with what the characters would actually do? Hi, bored now, can we get back to the actual movie, please?
Moving on: The Grand Opening performance at my wushu school on Sunday was pretty rad. They're expanding to include a new language program, so they had some introductory speeches and such, but the performance was definitely the highlight. I don't usually get to see the Taiji students perform--their classes are on different days than ours--and quite a few of them were excellent.
The cool part was seeing (and shooting!) performances from all three head instructors. :D It's awesome to see China-level practitioners perform in-person, and it's pretty awesome that they stopped competing years ago, but still have mad skills. I want to be rocking it well into my 30's and 40's, so it's pretty darned inspirational to see that it's possible.
Anyhoo, I got some cool shots, so I'm definitely pleased. Hopefully my fellow students and their parents will buy some prints. :)

If you want to know what the heck they're doing, see them with captions on Flickr. :)
That's all! :D
