Good times
Oct. 19th, 2007 10:04 amWe went to a show last night, because a friend was in the band. They're a pretty darned good band, I must say, but you could barely hear the vocals about 90% of the time. They're a big group, with drums and 5 other instruments, so the sound balance is probably tough.
We also played a fairly dismal game of darts, but somehow I kicked lots of butt... probably because I was the only sober person playing, heh. Sobriety ain't no fun when it's only you, but I'm also kind of glad I didn't drink much. I only had one rum and diet coke, and by the end of the evening I was foodlusting over buffalo wings, and I don't even particularly like buffalo wings. Damned alcohol and its munchies-inducing effects.
Had a good run yesterday, too. We ran on Sunday and did 3.2 miles with no real trouble. My legs were more tired yesterday, but I did 3.2 miles again, so I'm pretty stoked. At this point, I'm confident that I could totally smoke it on a 5K, heh. I don't think I have any serious designs on becoming an uber-awesome marathon runner or anything, but I think knocking out a 10K at an 8 min./mile pace would be pretty rad for me. :D
I've spent a large part of my week working on an online activity in Flash, and it has been... well, frustrating. Y'all know how I feel about Flash, in general, but for education-geared purposes, it's actually fairly well-suited to the task, so that's not really the problem. However, I hadn't really done any hardcore Flash work since Actionscript 1.0, and now they're on Actionscript 3.0, which is wildly different. I figured it out, but not without a bit of consternation here and there.
Anyhoo, the weekend is going to (hopefully) be good times. I am ridiculously excited about wushu practice with my UO homies! I think Phil is even supposed to be in town, too, so maybe I'll get to learn something, too. :) Hopefully, I'll catch dinner with
divadrummer after that. I still have no idea what's on the agenda for Saturday, but it should be relaxing and fun.
And, I'm spent.
